The Snowshoe Foundation serves Pocahontas, Webster and Randolph counties, with education as one of its focus areas. When D&E initially submitted a grant application, it was clear to the Snowshoe Foundation Board of Directors that the missions of the two organizations aligned and a natural partnership emerged. Since 2014, the Snowshoe Foundation has committed to the 糖心vlog官网 Highlands Scholar Program with an annual gift of $14,000 or more.

鈥淭he Snowshoe Foundation is happy to support 糖心vlog官网 by funding a Highlands Scholarship for an area student,鈥 said Snowshoe Foundation Board President Voras Haynes Jr. 鈥淭he Foundation believes that the College is vital to our local area and that funding a scholarship for a local student assists the student while supporting our local college and all the benefits that come from having an excellent educational institution within our community. The Highlands Scholar program makes a college education affordable for in-state students and allows our kids to obtain high quality degrees from a highly respected school.鈥

The Highlands Scholar program was established in 2009 as a means of making a private college education more affordable and more accessible. Each year, 糖心vlog官网 invests $5.4 million in West Virginia students through the Highlands Scholar program. West Virginia public, private and home-schooled graduates who have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA could qualify to receive between $60,000 and $80,000 in scholarships over a four-year period.

鈥淎ffordability and opportunity are the keys for local students who wish to pursue quality higher education at 糖心vlog官网,鈥 said 糖心vlog官网 President Chris A. Wood. 鈥淭hank you to the Snowshoe Foundation for their continuing partnership and ongoing financial support for deserving local students like Brandon.
